If you run a garage in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or anywhere across the UAE, the short answer to "which garage management software should I pick?" is: one that handles VAT, speaks Arabic, and is on a clear road to e-invoicing compliance before the 2027 mandate hits.
This guide covers the platforms active in the UAE market right now, what the e-invoicing mandate actually requires of your shop, and the five questions to ask before you sign anything.
We make a product in this space (MySyara OS). We'll say so clearly throughout, compare honestly, and you can weigh our analysis with that bias in mind.
Why UAE shops need different software
Most shop management software is built for the US market. Three assumptions baked into US-first products break in the UAE.
Tax is US sales tax. Many products handle state-level sales tax natively but have no TRN field, no 5% VAT line-item logic, and no FTA-compliant invoice numbering. You end up hacking workarounds into a system that was never designed for your tax rules.
The payment processor is Stripe or Square. Card processing in the UAE runs through Network International, Magnati, Telr, PayTabs, Checkout.com, and the major banks. A platform with no local processor integration leaves you reconciling card receipts by hand every day.
English is the only customer language. UAE customers often expect bilingual documents. A system that cannot produce an Arabic invoice or send an Arabic SMS is only half a product for this market.
Any garage management software UAE shortlist should clear all three bars before you book a demo.
The e-invoicing mandate: what your shop needs to know
This is the most consequential compliance change for a UAE garage owner reading this in 2026.
The UAE Ministry of Finance's Electronic Invoicing System (EIS) requires all in-scope businesses to issue invoices in structured XML format through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP). PDF invoices and paper invoices will not meet UAE tax law for B2B or B2G transactions once your phase goes live.
The current phased timeline (verified against Cleartax UAE, May 14 2026, and Khaleej Times):
| Phase | Who | ASP appointment deadline | Mandatory go-live |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voluntary pilot | Any business | - | July 2026 (optional) |
| Phase 1 | Revenue ≥ AED 50 million | 30 October 2026 | 1 January 2027 |
| Phase 2 | All remaining in-scope businesses | 31 March 2027 | 1 July 2027 |
Note: the ASP appointment deadline for Phase 1 was extended from its original 31 July 2026 deadline. The mandatory January 2027 go-live date was not extended. The FTA has set a penalty of AED 5,000 per month for failure to appoint an ASP within the required deadline.
What this means for your garage software choice: ask every vendor the same two questions and get the answers in writing before you sign.
- Which UAE-accredited ASP are you integrated with, or which one are you working toward?
- What is your confirmed timeline for full XML e-invoice send-and-receive?
A vague answer to either is a dealbreaker. If the vendor is still "exploring" ASP options, your shop will be the one carrying compliance risk.
What to look for: the UAE-specific criteria
Everything in our pillar on shop management software applies: work orders, estimates, digital vehicle inspection (DVI), invoicing, customer history. UAE adds the following.
1. VAT-compliant invoicing in AED
- Line-item 5% VAT shown correctly
- TRN field on every tax invoice
- AED as the default currency, with multi-currency support if you serve tourist or fleet customers
- FTA-compliant invoice numbering
2. E-invoicing readiness
- Named ASP integration (or a firm, dated roadmap)
- XML output capability
- Backwards-compatible PDF generation during the transition period
3. Arabic and English document support
- Invoices and estimates in both languages, ideally on the same document
- SMS and WhatsApp messaging in Arabic
- Customer-facing inspection reports in Arabic where needed
4. Local payment processor integration
- Network International, Magnati, Telr, PayTabs, Checkout.com
- Bank payment links (Mashreq Pay, ENBD, FAB)
- Cash-and-card reconciliation, since cash remains a meaningful share of UAE shop transactions
5. Multi-branch and multi-emirate handling
- If you operate across two emirates or into the wider GCC, the software should handle separate TRN configurations per entity and consolidate reporting across locations
The local market: who is live in the UAE
These are the platforms most active in serving UAE garages as of May 2026.
GRX
UAE-focused garage management platform, one of the few that publishes pricing. Current rate (verified on GRX's site, May 2026): AED 250/month + VAT billed yearly (AED 3,000/year + VAT), with the regular price listed at AED 600/month + VAT after the current promotional period. Built for Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah workshops with VAT, TRN, and Arabic support. The UAE-only focus is both the upside and the constraint: if you later expand to Saudi Arabia or Oman, you would be re-shopping your software stack.
autoGMS
Markets itself as a leading garage management platform in Dubai, citing 500+ UAE workshops. VAT-compliant workflows, AED billing, Arabic support. Pricing is not publicly listed; a sales call is required. The 500+ workshop figure is their own claim and cannot be independently verified.
MASS Auto Garage Software (Mass Technologies)
An older Dubai-based vendor with GCC reach covering Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Strong on job-card and inventory tracking across high-bay-count workshops. Pricing not public. Best fit if you run a mid-size to large workshop with heavy parts inventory and value a longer regional track record over a modern interface.
Solve Garage Software
Cloud-based, serving the UAE plus Qatar and Kuwait. Integrates with accounting, parts suppliers, and CRM. Pricing not public. The Qatar and Kuwait coverage is genuinely useful if you hold GCC fleet contracts that cross borders.
UniQon (ACDUAE)
One of the oldest UAE garage software products, developed in Dubai in 2003. Targets small to medium independent workshops. Pricing not public. Two decades of UAE-only operation brings real knowledge of FTA filing requirements; the trade-off is an interface that shows its age in places.
EZ Garage ERP (Swophistic Solutions)
Dubai-based ERP-style product that bundles accounting with garage management. Pricing not public. The bundled accounting angle can save a separate Tally or Zoho Books subscription, which matters for a single-bay shop watching overheads.
MySyara OS
Our product. Full disclosure.
We built MySyara OS in the UAE. VAT-compliant AED invoicing, TRN fields, Arabic and English document output, and regional payment processor support were in from the start, not bolted on. We now operate in 10 countries, but the UAE remains our origin market.
Our plans (as at May 2026):
- Starter: AED 149/month. Entry tier: VAT-compliant AED invoicing, job cards, estimates, and DVI with monthly record limits. A free trial is available before you commit.
- Professional: AED 749/month (or AED 6,740/year, billed annually). No caps on records, multi-branch dashboard, advanced reporting, digital approvals, and SMS/WhatsApp messaging.
- Enterprise: custom pricing. Contact us. Multi-location with custom ERP integrations, white-label mobile app, dedicated support.
See our pricing page for current details.
If you are a UAE shop that wants transparent AED pricing, a free trial to evaluate before you commit, and a vendor that already understands your tax rules, we are a reasonable fit. If you specifically want the longest-running UAE-only operator, UniQon or MASS have longer local histories. We do not have a native iOS or Android app today (the web interface is fully responsive); if a native app is a hard requirement, confirm that with any vendor before you sign.
Global vendors with UAE presence
Several well-known global platforms have UAE customers but were built for the US market:
- Shopmonkey, Tekmetric, AutoLeap: US-first. Some UAE shops use them with manual VAT and TRN workarounds. E-invoicing readiness is an open question for each. Verify directly with the vendor before signing.
- Orderry, Workshop Software: non-US global products with some MENA presence.
For a full comparison of these global platforms, see our 2026 buyer's guide for auto repair shop software. This UAE article focuses on the region-specific factors, VAT compliance, e-invoicing readiness, TRN handling, and AED pricing, that a global vendor comparison does not cover.
Pricing in AED: what the market looks like
Based on visible data as at May 2026:
| Tier | Monthly AED | What you typically get |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | AED 0 during trial | Evaluate VAT invoicing and job cards before committing to a paid plan |
| Entry paid | AED 250-500 | Full shop management: DVI, estimates, inventory, multi-user |
| Standard | AED 500-800 | Multi-branch, advanced reporting, integrations |
| Enterprise / custom | AED 800+ | Multi-location chains, custom integrations, dedicated support |
Note that most UAE-native vendors do not publish pricing. Only GRX (AED 250/month + VAT, verified) and MySyara OS (AED 749/month, verified from plans.ts) publish an AED price. All others require a sales call before you get a number.
Hidden costs to check before you sign:
- VAT on the software subscription: most vendors quote excluding 5% VAT
- ASP integration fees: if your software is not natively e-invoicing-ready, expect a separate ASP subscription on top of your monthly bill
- Setup and data migration: typically AED 1,800-11,000 one-time depending on data volume (a small single-bay workshop sits at the low end)
- Per-user fees: adding service advisors and technicians often scales the monthly cost
- Arabic content packs: some vendors charge separately for Arabic UI or invoice templates; confirm before signing
The UAE-fit checklist
When you demo any system, ask these five questions and get the answers in writing.
- E-invoicing readiness: Which ASP are you integrated with, or working toward? What is your confirmed go-live date for full XML send-and-receive?
- Invoice compliance: Does your invoice template include TRN, AED currency, 5% VAT line-item, and Arabic and English layout on the same document?
- Payment processors: Which UAE and GCC processors do you integrate with directly: Network International, Magnati, Telr, PayTabs, Checkout.com, Mashreq Pay?
- Multi-branch: Can I run multiple emirates or GCC branches with joined-up reporting and separate TRN configurations per entity?
- Exit terms: What does data export look like, and what is the cancellation process if I leave?
If a vendor cannot give you a clear, dated answer to question 1, they are not ready for the post-2027 UAE market. Move on.
Regional players vs. global products: the trade-offs
Both have legitimate arguments.
UAE-native and GCC-native platforms typically win on:
- Local tax and e-invoicing familiarity
- Arabic-language polish in the interface and documents
- Depth of local payment processor connections
- Sales and support in the same timezone and language
Global cloud platforms typically win on:
- Infrastructure maturity and uptime reliability
- Feature breadth: DVI quality, integrations catalog, mobile apps
- Pace of product development
The gap in the middle is narrow: a global-standard product with native UAE tax handling built in, not added later. That is the position we built MySyara OS into, but you should run demos with GRX, autoGMS, and one or two others before deciding. No single vendor suits every shop.
Frequently asked questions
Does my UAE garage actually need to worry about e-invoicing before 2027?
If your annual revenue is below AED 50 million, your mandatory go-live date is 1 July 2027. But your ASP must be appointed by 31 March 2027. If you are picking software in 2026, e-invoicing readiness should be part of the evaluation now, not a year from now when the shortlist is shorter and the sales teams are swamped.
Is 5% VAT the only tax consideration for UAE garages?
For most workshops, yes. The UAE has 5% VAT on standard-rated services and goods. You must display your TRN on every tax invoice and file VAT returns with the FTA. There is no corporate income tax on small businesses below the AED 375,000 threshold introduced in 2023. Confirm your specific situation with an FTA-registered tax agent.
Can my garage software handle both Arabic and English on the same invoice?
It depends on the platform. UAE-native tools (GRX, UniQon, MASS) typically support bilingual invoices as standard. Global tools often offer this as a template customization. Ask the vendor to show you a bilingual invoice sample before you sign, not a promise that "it supports Arabic".
What is an ASP, and does my garage need one?
An Accredited Service Provider is an FTA-authorised intermediary that routes your e-invoices in structured XML format to and from trading partners and the FTA's reporting system. Once your mandatory phase begins, invoices sent as PDF or paper do not meet UAE tax law for B2B and B2G transactions. Your garage software must either be ASP-integrated or connect cleanly to one you subscribe to separately.
What should I do if a vendor says their e-invoicing integration is "coming soon"?
Ask for a specific date in writing. If they cannot commit to a date that lands comfortably before your phase deadline, the risk is yours, not theirs. Factor in the reality that switching software mid-mandate is significantly more disruptive than choosing a compliant platform now.
Is there a free garage management software option for UAE shops?
Some vendors offer a free trial so you can evaluate before paying. MySyara OS lets you try the platform free, VAT-compliant invoicing, job cards, and basic records management, before moving to a paid plan. For a low-volume shop, a trial is usually enough to confirm fit before you commit. See our pricing page for current plan details and what the paid tiers add.
A final word
The garage management software UAE market shifted in 2026. E-invoicing moved from a future consideration to a current procurement filter. If you are signing a multi-year contract this year, ASP readiness should rank above feature breadth. A platform with fewer features and a clear e-invoicing roadmap beats a feature-rich platform that has not solved the mandate.
Run two demos minimum. Ask the five questions above. Get pricing in writing, including VAT. Take a free trial; most local vendors offer one if you ask directly. Do not decide in a week. The cost of switching later is worse than the cost of one extra week of evaluation now.
